These banks have had a positive impact on how our family manages our own finances. This same Mom said to her husband, “You know, honey, our daughters will only marry someone who is using Faith & Finances for Kids®.”
Teaches kids 2 questions to answer before buying anything. One of the many things I really like about the system is how it teaches kids to decide if they should buy something – especially when they already have 20+ of the same item. I also like the detailed instructions of how each bank is used on the Game Plan Card, teaching taxes and the use of the Emergency Fund.
Still using 24 years later. My parents designed this system to teach me how to manage money starting at age 3. After my first year at West Point I told them this was one of the most helpful things they had taught me growing up. Today my beautiful wife Rachel and I still manage the same 4 areas of Giving, Savings, Reserve and Allowance and look forward to teaching these truths to our son, Austin.
Finally something that really works. This system is a great tool to educate both parents and children alike in how to be good stewards of our finances. After years of frustrating attempts at establishing allowances, we are delighted to finally have the tools we need to make teaching our daughters (ages 4, 6, 8 ) how to manage money fun! I wish my parents had taught me this way.
A gift that will last a lifetime – thank you! We love the banks! Our 9-year-old son learned the value of a dollar in just 2 weeks after implementing FFFK and it has saved us several arguments. I have been trying to teach that to him for years. He now researches and reads reviews before buying things. Our 5-year-old daughter has memorized her scriptures and makes up dances as she sings the verses around the house. When our 2-year-old sees the banks out on Sunday night for Pay Day, she runs to the table yelling, “Money, money, money.” I think she likes the sound of the coins as she drops them into her banks. Thank you for making us a stronger family in our faith. You have given us a gift that will last a lifetime.
So simple that even a 5-year-old can teach a younger sister. We let our 2-year-old daughter be part of the banks each week. She sits there and puts in YEN and random change while we are doing Pay Day with the older 2 (ages 5 and 7). Last week, our 5 year old daughter said, “SJ, you have so much YEN. I need to teach you how to do this right! Let’s get out all your money and let sis teach you.” It was precious. She sat there on the floor with SJ and made her say all the verses as they put all kinds of random money in the banks. It was so cute.
Faith & Finances for Kids® offers HOPE for our nation. I’m so impressed with this vision God has given you both. It shows discipline, faith and courage. When you shared this with me during lunch, I couldn’t wait to share it with my family. Our nation needs this type of concept …… Your project gives HOPE.
These banks have taught our daughter delayed gratification. Our daughter (age 6) has been saving for an American doll and she just made her first “big” purchase a few weeks ago. Each Sunday she looked forward to getting her income so she would be closer to her goal. She reached her goal and when her doll came in the mail, she was sooooo excited. She said it was the happiest day of her life. She hardly lets the doll out of her sight. Now she is saving for an outfit. She says she really appreciates having her doll because she saved up so much and it took so long to get it. She also learned about shipping charges.
I love the pat answer – “Let’s check your Allowance.” The banks are great! They are such a good way to teach fiscal responsibility and a great answer for our son (age 5) to the incessant, “Can I have…?” My pat answer is now, “Let’s check your Allowance.” I have 2 friends who have expressed interest in acquiring these banks for their kids.
